Honda Launch Upgraded CR-V Range with new All-Wheel Drive

Honda Launch Upgraded CR-V Range with new All-Wheel Drive

27 February 2015

  • New 1.6 i-DTEC 160 with All-Wheel Drive introduced
  • City Brake Active System now standard across the range
  • New Honda Connect internet-ready infotainment system
  • Upgraded styling and equipment
  • Significant changes to steering and suspension for improved drive

Honda has confirmed Irish pricing and specification for a series of upgrades to the world’s biggest selling SUV, the new CR-V, which will be arriving in dealerships across Ireland in March.

Entry pricing remains unchanged and starts from a competitive €31,995 for the 1.6 i-DTEC SE model, now with additional specification added including City-brake active system and Bluetooth. The introduction of Honda’s new high-power 1.6 i-DTEC 160 to replace the 2.2 i-DTEC means increased power, reduced fuel consumption, and thanks to lower CO2 a significant drop in price. All-wheel drive models now start from €37,495 in manual form, or €39,995 in 9-speed automatic, due to VRT reductions of between €2,500 and €4,500.

With PCP an increasingly popular option for Honda customers, as a representative example of the range, the 1.6 i-DTEC SE is available from just €349* per month.

The refreshed CR-V sees the arrival of the new 160PS 1.6 i-DTEC engine which utilises a dual stage turbo to provide the best power-to-consumption ratio of any SUV on sale today.

With environmental concerns linked directly to the cost of ownership, the new engine produces just 129g/km of CO2 and does a combined 4.9l/100km (57.7mpg).  Those drivers choosing the nine-speed automatic, which arrives in Ireland from June, are not penalised in their choice of transmission, with an impressive combined mpg of 5.1l/100km (55mpg).

Available in both two and four wheel drive, the new CR-V also features a world first in the new i-ACC intelligent adaptive cruise control system, which comes as part of the optional Honda SENSING Pack, available on the EX grade.

Developed in house and specifically for European roads and driving styles, the new system takes adaptive cruise control one step further, constantly scanning the road ahead to accurately predict the likelihood of drivers cutting in front when motorway driving.

Using complex algorithms, the i-ACC system gently applies the brakes to deliver a smoother and more comfortable ride and ensures a safer driving experience for Honda customers.

Generously Equipped Specifications

The new CR-V will be available with four generously equipped trim levels SE, ES, ES Sport and EX and in both two and four wheel drive.  Honda’s Dynamic Safety is introduced as standard equipment for the first time on EX grade models, while it costs an additional €1,500 on other grades and adds a raft of safety aids, such as forward collision warning, traffic sign recognition, lane departure warning, blind spot information and high beam support system.

The Honda SENSING Pack is an option on the EX, costing an additional €1,800.  The Sensing Pack consists of collision mitigation braking system, lane keep assist, the world first i-ACC system.

Generous standard equipment on the CR-V has been improved for 2015 and now features City-brake active system, Bluetooth, 17” Alloy wheels, Dual-zone climate control, Cruise control, Alarm, Drivers’ seat electric lumbar support, Idle Stop, Eco Assist, Hill Start Assist, Remote audio controls, LED Daytime running lights and Front & rear centre armrests.

The popular ES grade adds the new Honda Connect internet-ready touchscreen infotainment system, Rear parking camera, Front & rear parking sensors, Automatic lights and wipers, Front fog  lights, Auto-dim rear view mirror and Electrically folding mirrors.

Going up the range, the ES Sport features Leather & Alcantara upholstery, Heated front seats, Garmin Satellite navigation, 18” Alloy wheels, Silver roof rails, Privacy glass, High beam support system, Active cornering lights, HID headlights and High-power audio system.

The EX tops off the range with Leather upholstery, Panoramic glass roof, Smart entry & start, Electric drivers’ seat with memory, Power tailgate, and new for 2015, Honda’s Dynamic Safety Pack including Forward collision warning, Lane departure warning, Blind spot information, Cross traffic monitor and Traffic sign recognition system.

The new 2015 Honda CR-V range is available from March at Honda Dealerships, with Automatic models arriving from June, with order books open now.
